The Accreditation Commission for Conformity Assessment Bodies (ACCAB) is an autonomous international accreditation body dedicated to serving both global businesses and consumer communities. ACCAB’s primary objective is to accredit qualified, independent third-party conformity assessment bodies (CABs), including certification bodies, inspection bodies, testing and calibration laboratories, and medical laboratories, ensuring their competence aligns with international standards and benchmarks. While ACCAB accreditation is voluntary, it holds significant value in validating the capabilities of
accredited entities.
ACCAB, formally known as the Accreditation Commission for Conformity Assessment Bodies Private Limited, is a registered legal entity under the Companies Act of 1956 in the Republic of India. Operating under the auspices of ISO/IEC 17011, ACCAB functions with full legal authority, duly established business objectives, and official approval from the Registrar of Companies, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India. As an independent, impartial, self-governed, and non-governmental organization, ACCAB maintains its autonomy and does not claim any government affiliation.
